The University of Toulon has a strong foothold in the region with five sites throughout the Var :

  • La Garde - La Valette-du-Var (main campus)
  • Toulon - Porte d’Italie
  • Draguignan
  • Saint-Raphaël
  • La Seyne-sur-Mer

9 Faculties offer a hundred different degrees.

In September 2014, the University will open its new Toulon-Porte d’Italie university campus in downtown Toulon.

La Garde Campus

The Campus in La Garde is the University of Toulon’s (UTLN) main campus. Over the past 40 years, the campus has continually expanded. Located close to a commercial district and industrial park, the tree-filled campus now occupies 35 hectares in La Garde and La Valette-du-Var.

The Campus in La Garde is the University’s headquarters. You will find the Office of the President /Vice-Chancellor, General Services, the principal administrative departments including research, student life, and international relations.

There are also 2 libraries (BU) on the La Garde campus : The main library and the SeaTech School of Engineering library.

There is also a gym and a synthetic grass football pitch.

The main campus in La Garde accommodates the following faculties and departments :

  • The Faculty of Literature and Humanities
  • The Faculty of Sciences and Technology
  • The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Studies (STAPS)
  • 6 Departments of the IUT : TC, GEA, GIM, GMP, GEII et Génie Bio
  • SeaTech School of Engineering
  • Continuing Education Department (FTLV)
  • Doctoral School 548 “Sea and Sciences”

The following faculties and institutes will relocate to the new downtown Toulon campus in September 2014 :

  • The Ingémédia Faculty of Information and Communication
  • The Faculty of Economics and Management
  • The Institute of Business Administration (IAE)
  • The Doctoral School 509 “Comparative Euro-Mediterranean Civilisations and Societies”

The La Garde campus is also welcomes all of the Research Units affiliated with the Faculty of Sciences and Technology as well as the Research Unit affiliated with the Faculty of Literature and Humanities (BABEL).

In addition, you will find 3 residence halls managed by the CROUS (Faron, Coudon, and Fenouillet) as well as the Coudon university dining hall and 2 cafeterias : The Béal and the SeaTech School of Engineering cafeteria.

Toulon Campus – Porte d’Italie

The Toulon campus is located on the eastern outskirts of downtown Toulon. Near the Porte d’Italie, the Faculty of Law was first inaugurated in 1995. In September 2014, a new state of the art communications and trans-media building will be inaugurated.

The Faculty of Law and the new building, which will accommodate 3 faculties from the campus in La Garde, will form the new Toulon-Porte d’Italie campus. The downtown campus will be the University’s second largest campus with nearly 3,000 students.

The Toulon-Porte d’Italie campus will accommodate :

  • The Faculty of Law
  • The Faculty of Economics and Management
  • The Ingémédia Faculty of Information and Communication
  • The Institue of Business Administration (IAE)
  • Doctoral School 509 “Comparative Euro-Mediterranean Civilisations and Societies”

The Toulon – Porte d’Italie campus will also accommodate the University’s Research Units in Law, Economics, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The campus will also house the “Télomedia” multi-media studios which will be used for both educational and research purposes.

The new campus will also have 2 libraries (BU) : The Library at the Faculty of Law and a new library specialising in Economics, Management, and Information and Communication which will be located in the le plot Baou of the new building.

The student union, student life area located in the new building and the “L’Escarpe” dining hall located in the Faculty of Law are available to everyone on the Toulon-Porte d’Italie campus.

Draguignan Campus

The Campus in Draguignan includes two buildings/offices : a satellite of the Faculty of Law and The IUT’s Department of Business Administration (GEA).

The Faculty of Law is located at 250 rue Jean Aicard in Draguignan. The building features a lecture hall, classrooms, a library, and a cafeteria/snack bar and welcomes around 350 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students every year.

The IUT’s Department of Business Administration (GEA) is located on Boulevard Colonel Michel Lafourcade in Draguignan and welcomes around 120 students every year. The building features a lecture hall, classrooms, computer labs, a language lab as well as a multimedia equipped classroom. A student lounge, cafeteria and gym are also available to all students.

Saint-Raphaël Campus

The Campus in Saint Raphaël is home to the IUT’s Department of Multimedia and Internet Studies (MMI).

The MMI Department is located within walking distance to downtown Saint Raphaël at 200 Avenue Victor Sergent and welcomes around 180 DUT and Professional Bachelor’s Degree students

The MMI Department is located in a spacious and modern building featuring a lecture hall, classrooms, computer and multimedia labs. A student lounge, cafeteria, and terrace are also available to all students.

La Seyne-sur-Mer Campus

The campus in the Seyne-sur-Mer is home to the École Supérieure du Professorat et de l’Éducation (ESPE).

L’École Supérieure du Professorat et de l’Éducation (formerly known as the IUFM) is located within walking distance to the harbour at 59 allée Emile Pratali. The ESPE welcomes Master’s Degree students in Education.
