Faculty of Economics and Management

PRESENTATION

Five decades of experience in the development of Economic studies and courses give the School of Economics and Management of the University of Toulon a place of choice among French Universities. It is recognized in the academic world as well as in its professional environment thanks to its degree of openness, the reputation of its professors-researchers and its Laboratory (LEAD, EA 3163) as well as the extent and diversity of its courses. It offers a Bachelor’s degrees in "Economics and Management", and 2 Master’s degrees and PhD Degrees in Economic Sciences.

It offers its 700 students a selection of training courses ranging from a Bachelor’s degree in "Economics and Management" to Master’s degrees. Academic staff inform, supervise and individually assist the students throughout their studies. In addition to lectures, classes are offered as tutorials, in small groups, professional projects or internships, enabling to promote students’ success which is based on a double proximity, between the faculty and the students thus guaranteeing pleasant study conditions, and with the professional world, a guarantee of a good employability for its graduates.

The 3rd year of the Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management offers specifically two programs of studies. Students can choose from "Economics and Finance" or "International and Territorial Economics" and begin specializing in particular fields leading to Masters’ degrees offered within the School of Economics and Management. Or they can choose from "General Management" or "Accounting, Control and Auditing" specializing in particular fields leading to Master’s degrees offered within the Institute of Business Administration (IAE).
Master’s Degrees at the School of Economics and Management Sciences cover specifically 2 specializations :

  • "Economic Development" with 3 programs of studies : "International Fair Trade and Economic Development" ; "Economics of the Sea and Coastal Development" ; "Economics and Risk Governance"
  • "Banking, Finance, Insurance" (MBFA) in work/study training program (with a 24-month contract) specializing in "Consultant for Banking and Insurance".

At Master level, purposely limiting enrolment enables each student to receive individual attention. In the "Economic Development " specialization, having classes taught by business professionals and requiring a 4 to 6 months internship combined with specific modules contribute to better prepare the students to integrate the work force.
In the "MBFA" specialization, students can combine their studies with part-time work. They can also benefit from classes taught by academics and business professionals. To further enhance student employability, an optional complementary “International curriculum” is proposed to students who follow coursework in English in addition to attending an intensive course in English Language and a TOEIC preparation.

The LEAD Research unit for Applied Economics and Developent (Laboratoire d’Economie appliquée au Développement) associated with the School of Economics and Management is actively involved in highly specialized courses for the Master’s degree courses. It accounts for about 30 teacher-researchers and PhD students. The reputation of academic staff at the School of Economics and Management in terms of academic publications, expertise, participation and organization of international symposiums is a guarantee of excellence for the content and attractiveness of its Master courses.

University is also a place where daily life is made of difficulties and efforts but also of joys and leisure. Ideally located in the city center of Toulon, close to the cultural and sporting activities proposed by the city of Toulon as well as its many natural assets (sea, creeks and beaches ...), the School of Economics and Management offers its students a unique environment that actively contributes to their education, helping to forge characters and collective relations.
The School of Economics and Management is constantly striving for a better match between university life and professional life. Through the contacts and exchanges it develops with the working world and the world of scientific research, its students are placed in a situation of pre-employment while maintaining a distance necessary to acquire a genuine education and training. Let our students know, therefore, that the School of Economics and Management is delighted to welcome them and it hopes to be able to take pride in their future success.
