PRESENTATION

Located on the La Garde Campus, the Faculty of Sciences and Technology proposes degrees in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science offering students career opportunities in such flourishing fields as sustainable development, environmental sciences, materials, engineering, or education.
You will be seduced by its new premises opening in September 2020 (student common room, rooms dedicated to practical work and administration).

The courses offered at the Faculty of Sciences cover a wide range of scientific fields with :

  • 5 General Bachelor’s Degrees
  • 1 vocational Bachelor Degree (Licence Professionnelle)
  • 5 Master Degrees
  • 1 degree in Engineering (sandwich course)

With this diversified and progressive training offer, the student can choose a course adapted to his/her areas of interest and studies or career paths and develop skills and knowledge suited for professional opportunities in a wide variety of sectors.

To improve the transition from high school to university, the first semester of the Bachelor’s Degree is dedicated to acquiring fundamental notions, emphasizing rigorous scientific methods. Guiding students as they develop their career plan, the Faculty of Sciences and Technology offers skills-based coursework in the Bachelor’s Degree to develop a student’s effectiveness and promote success : Project Management and Career Planning, Calculation Methods in Experimental Sciences etc. Students are assigned mentors who work with them to overcome any difficulties they may encounter through the entire course.

Also, the Faculty of Sciences and Technology offers selected students additional training during the first 2 years of the Bachelor’s Degrees in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and Engineering studies, in order to prepare them enter a school of Engineering, in particular SeaTech Engineering School at the university of Toulon, .

Research units are directly affiliated with the Faculty of Sciences and Technology. Teaching is mostly delivered by researchers. Learning from experience being essential in Science, practical work is highly developed as a method of teaching. Internship opportunities in a company or in a research unit are either part of the course or strongly advised.
At the university of Toulon, an international dimension is strongly developed through thanks to partnerships with other European and non-European institutes and universities. Students have the opportunity to pursue a semester or their entire degree abroad.
