French as a Foreign Language Courses (FLE)
The University of Toulon (UTLN) proposes a free course in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) to all international students enrolled at the university whether or not the student participates in an exchange program.
Students will receive a certificate of attendance and validate their level in the language or receive 5 ECTS credits/semester (only students in exchange programs only).
Objectives
Tailored for international students, this course aims to develop and strengthen your linguistic, methodological, and cultural skills enabling you to be at ease and spontaneous in both writing and speaking as well as to successfully adapt to university life in France.
Calendar and Content
- Classes begin : September, Building B 2nd floor.
The course consists in 100 hours of training over 2 semesters from September - October to the end of May, including 50 hours per 12-week semester. - Semester 1 : From September to the end of January.
- Semester 2 : From end to January to the end of May.
The 50 hours per semester are divided between 30 hours of French classes and 20 hours of classes in French civilisation and discovering the region.
Groups per Level
Following a placement test, the students are divided into groups according to their initial level : elementary, intermediate, and advanced.
Students must register with the Department of International Relations.
