To enhance public safety on campus, the University of Toulon has designed safety procedures for whatever situation you may encounter.

GUIDELINES & PROCEDURES

You must familiarize yourself with and abide by the University’s General Rules and Regulations as well as those that apply to your Faculty and/or Research Unit.

Emergency and Safety Instructions

You must also familiarize yourself with emergency instructions posted in public areas, notably those pertaining to fires or accidents or specific work areas (equipment, hazardous materials etc...)
Your professor must provide you with safety instructions prior to any tutorial, especially when you are required to handle hazardous materials or products.

Evacuation Drills

The University organises evacuation or fire containment drills. You are required to participate and must follow the instructions given to you.

Hygiene, Safety, and Work Conditions Board (CHSCT)

The CHSCT works to improve the safety, health and working conditions off the personnel and students at the University. The CHSCT makes recommendations based on professional risks, health and safety observations, the Department of Preventive Medicine’s annual report, accident reports, and building inspections etc. Feel free to contact a member of the board if you have any problems or suggestions on how to improve your study environment.

Health and Safety Log

Should you encounter any safety or health problems on any of the campuses, please contact the Office of Health, Safety, and the Environment at 06 74 00 58 90 or by e-mail at csse univ-tln.fr. You may also record your observations and suggestions in the health and safety log located at the reception of each building.

You must fill out an accident report form available at the reception of each Faculty or Research Unit.

In the laboratories, tutorial rooms, and workshops

You must wear individual protective clothing and equipment as required in every laboratory, tutorial room (cotton uniforms, closed shoes in Chemistry, safety shoes in workshops, protective goggles and hearing protection, etc.) and use general equipment (sorbonnes, fume extraction fans, etc.). If the protective equipment is not available, inform your professor who will provide you with the necessary equipment and show you how to use it properly.

Your Health

If you have any health problems or need advice, go to the Department of Preventive Medicine and Health (SUMPPS) and a nurse or a doctor will help you.

All 1st year students will have a mandatory medical exam at the Department of Preventive Medicine and Health.

You may contact the Social Services Department for other everyday difficulties you may encounter.

If you suffer from a disability or long-term illness, contact the Department of Preventive Medicine and Health (SUMPPS) to make special arrangements for your studies and exams as well as “Mission Handicap”.
