The aim of the Community Garden is to promote sustainability, collaboration and intergenerational sharing within the University of Toulon (La Garde campus) by providing an environmentally friendly space for gardening.
Our objectives:
- Growing and eating home-grown, ‘organic’ fruit and vegetables such as: potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelons, melons, broad beans, peas, beans, herbs…
- To share your knowledge and experience, learn from others and about yourself, or simply get involved.
- Understanding and respecting the environment, promoting biodiversity, recycling
- Understanding the soil and the interactions between living organisms, gaining an understanding of waste management,
Our core values include:
- Awareness of the natural world and the preservation of biodiversity are promoted through the planting of local varieties and plants that attract wildlife.
- Respect and friendliness
- The sharing of knowledge and best practice
- A place for self-expression and freedom
- Staff and students are equal; decisions are made collectively
- There is a picnic area where people can gather
- The garden is open to everyone, but visitors must register
- No chemicals, just natural ingredients
- The produce is distributed to the participants
- Surplus produce is donated to the student food bank
One rule: no samples taken without your consent
Registration and enrolment:
Register for free by simply sending an email to jardin.partage@univ-tln.fr.
Time slots are offered each week via email through a survey link (Framadate, Evento, etc.)
