This theme explores the changes brought about by social, technological and environmental transitions, with a view to examining their impact on institutions and their regulatory frameworks, on culture and heritage, on organisations, and on funding models.
These transitions raise issues concerning the impact of human activity, safety and the associated risks, particularly for Mediterranean societies. Research must help us to better anticipate these developments so that we can support the necessary changes to preserve resources and create value. These transitions call for research into raising awareness and supporting change.
This topic draws particularly on the social sciences and humanities, whilst also drawing on the ‘hard’ sciences to understand and anticipate the impact of environmental and technological changes.
